Ellen & Joe’s Wedding, Swadlincote in Derbyshire

Article by Lee Glasgow

So off we go to Swadlincote in derbyshire, for the wedding of Ellen & Joe. The words Vintage and shabby sheik is all in vogue at the moment, but these two words simply came naturally to this wedding as Elle’s dad has a small holding with fields, in which he keeps his tractors and sheep, but this day it was reserved of the wedding marquee & the family went to work to decorate the marquee into a wonderful wedding venue. Throughout the day the clouds threatened to release its rain water, but for some reason this wet weather never materialised, instead we were given scenic and dramatic clouds!  Ellen & Joe’s wedding was informal & some, it was so relaxed, and I enjoyed capturing this  wedding in all it’s natural glory, it wasn’t the bucking sheep that the guests enjoyed falling off that I enjoyed capturing, but what I really enjoyed photographing was the brides dad in his garden, a place he loves to spend a lot of his time, I also loved walking around his fields with the bride and groom & had lots of fun and trying out little things to add creativity to their wedding images, to which this country Bride & Groom had no hesitation going along with. On the way back from our country photo shoot, we were joined by the Ram of the field to which I have to say as a townie, I was a little nervous, when it came to close. I hope you see the relaxed beauty in these images, it was a pleasure to photograph such an informal, relaxed county wedding in this part of Derbyshire.
