Birthday Bowling

I try not to take my camera out for social events, as I like to relax for a while (which is almost impossible for my little brain!) but on this occasion, I decided to ignore my own rules.

My children were invited to a friend’s Birthday Party at the Hollywood Bowl in Leicester (www.hollywoodbowl.co.uk/Our-Centres/Leicester.htm) and I think the images below show what can be achieved with a little thought and plenty of fun.

Living in Middle England – Hinckley in Leicestershire on the border of Warwickshire to be precise - is not the most exciting or most inspiring location to be, especially when you are trying to push your own photographic boundaries. However, if you work a little harder and let your imagination explore the surroundings, there is always a creative image waiting to be captured. With some creative lighting, you can use the urban landscape to your advantage and achieve images that stand out and turn a normal urban street into a stylish, photographic landscape.

These images go to show that with a bit of graffiti, some imagination and a fab subject (in this case my handsome son!), you can create an amazing set of images. These photos were taken next to Hinckley’s Library in Leicestershire.
