Annette and Matt’s Wedding at the stunning Kilworth House, Leicestershrie

kilworth houseAnnette and Matt chose Kilworth House in Leicestershire for there wedding venue, Kilworth House has such a wonderful reputation for quality and service all wrapped up in a stunning building and grounds. This venue is well worth a visit for afternoon tea in the Victorian Orangery and a walk down to its outdoor Theater. Entertainment was supplied by Paul Martyn who Entertained the guests from the beginning all the way to the end of this perfect wedding, Paul is a true professional and always works his heart out to entertain the guests. Matt arrived to Kilworth house in a stretched Land Rover Sport which was ordered as a surprise for him. Annette awoke at Kilworth House and looked so beautiful In her chosen wedding dress. I was recommended to Annette and Matt by a mutual friend of ours, which is always a great way to gain new clients. Annette looked stunning and Matt well he was a true gentleman from beginning to end, you guys were a joy to photograph.
You will notice on one of the images below three sisters, I absolutely loved taking this image and I know this image will only gain in value as time goes on, I’m totally aware that my images will take on a roll as part of the families social history. This for me is really important.

Ardencote Manor Hotel in Claverdon Warwick for Sarah and Jame’s Wedding

It was off to Royal Leamington Spa to capture Sarah’s wedding preparations at her parents family home, just before leaving to travel to the church, I found some lovely light which was perfect to capture some precious moments with Sarah and her parents, I love the idea of slowing the day down so people can soak in the atmosphere of the day and for family members to share some time with each other before the wedding process begins. The church for me was perfect to photograph in because of all the natural light flooding in from a huge circular skylight.
After the Wedding ceremony we had a small drive to their reception at Ardencote Manor Hotel in Claverdon Warwick.
The weather was teasing us, so we used the Hotels beautiful rooms and fabulous window light to our advantage and created some family portraits that I absolutely love.
I know If you read my posts you may hear me say on numerous occasions how wonderful the families are, but what can I do, what can I say, as yet again this wedding was an absolute joy and pleasure to capture.

Victoria and Richard at Rowton Castle Shrewsbury

Rowton Castle ShrewsburyRowton Castle, Shrewsbury was the chosen venue for Victoria and Richard, I feel really privileged to visit these beautiful venue’s and see places that I would otherwise never visit.
I always try and learn something from every wedding so I can continually improve and grow and I feel from their wedding, I have Learnt that during the Dancing shots to shoot Oh’ Naturale, don’t worry Im on about about my photography not myself. Thank you guys for making me feel very welcome on your weddding day, and Im looking forward to handing over your finished wedding images.

Jennie and Oliver’s Pre Wedding Photoshoot at their Leicestershire Home

For this blog post I would like to survey this question! Should Jennie Clark take on Oliver’s surname of Penney making her “Jennie Penney”, because I think so! But unfortunately Jenny did not share my enthusiasm. Jennie and Oliver have chosen St Catherine’s Church in Burbage Leicestershire, then onto the Sketchley Grange Hotel. These Guys will be fab to photograph, although Oliver was a little apprehensive, he soon learned that I was an easy target to poke fun at, as for Jennie, well she is adorable, she was so friendly and simply put she was a bag of smiles. As an added bonus their wedding venue is 2 minutes from my home in Hinckley, Leicestershire and the Sketchely Grange has a health spar with pool, that I may just sneak into .

Sarah and Michael Pre Wedding shoot at Holdenby House in Northamptonshire

Holdenby House in NorthamptonshireI had an absolutely wonderful meeting at Holdenby House in Northamptonshire with Sarah, Michael and her parents, who from the word go made me feel incredibly welcome to their daughters wedding preparations.
Holdenby House is a wonderful privately owned house which have beautiful gardens open to the public, I have placed a link here to view the history of this stunning building. CLICK HERE For me this wedding will be an absolute Joy and dare I say, easy for me to capture, it has all the elements I need to do my thing, stunning location, building and grounds, beautiful, friendly people and families all wrapped up in a day that will see the venue and these families looking there very best.

Heba and Ayad choose Moor Hall hotel in Sutton Coalfield for their Wedding celebration

Heba and Ayad choose Moor Hall hotel in Sutton Coalfield for their Wedding celebrationAm I an international wedding photographer? Well apart from going to Jamaica to shoot a wedding in June, most of my weddings are in the UK but that a side, the last three weddings I have photographed, have most defiantly been international, I have photographed a Hindi Wedding in south port, A English C of E wedding in Warwickshire and A Iraqi Muslim Wedding in the West Midlands. Well they say variety is the spice of life, know wonder I’m loving my Job!
Heba and Ayad choose Moor Hall hotel in Sutton Coalfield for their Wedding celebration, I have to say I have never been to an Iraqi Muslim wedding and I make the distinction because although this is a Muslim celebration each of the middle eastern countries have their own way to party and celebrate their weddings. The transformation that took place in the wedding breakfast room was absolutely beautiful, the hard work made by the wedding party really paid off and certainly stood out for all the right reasons. After a traditional civil wedding ceremony the hotel exploded with Arabic dancers and music, this gave way to all the wedding guests suddenly coming to life and strutting their stuff on the dance floor, it started with the men linking arms and performing their traditional dance followed by all the guests, everyone seemed to have a part to play in the dance and it really was a sight to be hold. Every now and again the women would let out a high shriek of sound and this would be repeated by others around the room and the pitch was quite something to hear. There were many cultures invited to the wedding and this certainly added to the rich diversity and the fabulous colors and designs of the outfits. Heba looked absolutely beautiful, as a man can I mention the condition of her glowing skin?, oh well I have now!, she looked radiant and although she made me work for my money ;@) she looked after me throughout the whole day and made sure I was cared for and fed well, we had loads of laughs along the way, Heba you were a true pleasure to photograph and I’m so glad I chilled you out in my unique cheeky way! Ayad was a true gentleman, it’s fair to say he is a quiet man and I think he is going to have to be, being married to Heba! I can not finish this post without mentioning the wedding guests, they truly embraced myself and made me feel so welcome.

I bumped my way around Wroxall Abbey in Warwickshire with Emma and Adam

Spent far to long at an engagement shoot today with Emma and Adam and I seemed to have transformed into Mr Bump from the Mr Men, my head was away with the fairies as I bumped my way around Wroxall Abbey in Warwickshire, much to Emma’s amusement, now I belive there is a saying “it’s not work if you are having fun” well I guess once again I never went into the proverbial office! With the sun shinning we chatted, made notes, laughed, drank tea from china cups (my favorite pass time) and walked around this English mansion with its cathedral and beautiful grounds. Along the way we stopped and captured a few images and tried a few ideas in preparation for their wedding day! The top right image is the key for the CathedraI, sometimes I worry about my mental state, as I was really impressed with this ornate key and quite fancied having a door at home in which I could use it! I have no doubt that these guys wedding images will be stunning, as they inspire me with their sickly, youthful good looks and their zest for having fun! Emma started the meeting making me gush by stating that she admired my photographic work of a wedding I photographed last year, stating the images were so different and stylish that she had to have me, I let her finish this trail of thought as I don’t like interrupting clients when they have important things to say, I just think that would be just plain rude! She also stating that she is “so excited that I’m capturing her big day”! No pressure their then! My promise to you Emma and Adam is, I will work my heart out on your wedding day, we shall laugh from beginning to end and I will try and get my imbalance problem fixed ;@>Wroxall abbey

Stacy and Glen’s Warwickshire Wedding at Hellidon Lakes, Golf and Spar Hotel

Do you know when you meet people for the first time and you feel that “these are my kind of people” well this is my feeling with Glen and Stacy.
Their wedding day started off at Stacy’s mums house in Radford Semele in Warwickshire, close to the town of Leamington Spa. Stacy was so chilled
and a number of times said to her bridesmaids “will you chill out what are you stressing about” and this really was the theme for the day. After a beautiful service in a small village called Offchurch in Warwickshire, we headed of for their Wedding Reception at Hellidon Lakes, Golf and Spar Hotel. The weather was tempting us with sun and showers, but it behaved itself perfectly all day. If I thought Stacy was chilled this was nothing compared to Glenn, he was there to enjoy himself and he was the perfect groom for me to photograph, we laughed at every possible moment. I can not really finish this brief description of their wedding day without mentioning the family, guests and the simply beautiful bridesmaids, I was treated as a guest by all of these, and thoroughly enjoyed sharing their wedding celebration, but for me the highlight of the wedding was the speeches, the best men (Glenn chose two) made tears run down my face with their anecdote’s and jokes of Glen’s habbits and shenanigans. After sharing their wedding day It occurred to me that Glen and Stacy were grabbing life with both hands and enjoying everything it has to offer. Thank you guys for choosing me to capture your beautiful wedding and remember, I’m not blowing smoke, because I’ve already been paid ;@>

Soni and George Southport Hindu Wedding

After a nightmare two day journey from the South of France to Calais, after my clutch went in my car, it seemed a very early start up to Southport floral hall for this Hindu Wedding calibration.
Thank goodness the Lord invented adrenaline and manufactures invent pro plus and red bull ;@>
Now I feel honored to be invited to photograph this wedding, as the bride Soni had highlighted a photographer that she wanted to use but after seeing myself work at a previous wedding George convinced her to view my work and I guess cheesy as it sounds the rest is history. George was playing in the band called Maslow
Soni and George are not a traditional couple, so we had a rough plan to weave some funky images in with the “Traditional Wedding Shots” It was fair to say I was blown away with the photographic ingredients that Southport had to offer me as a wedding photographer and with the perfect couple Soni and George, But time was not on my side. I think stunning is the only word that would describe how Soni looked, her outfit was handmade in India and brought over by a relative, it fitted her like a glove, to all the onlookers it was stunning but my goodness it was so heavy with all the detail and fabric. George himself looked every bit the part, in his tradition Indian outfit, he was the perfect gent on the day an absolute pleasure to photograph. I’m not going to go on any further about this wedding as I am confident the images speak for themselves. I hope you love them as much as I did capturing them.

David and Zoe’s Pre wedding photoshoot at Foxton Locks Leicestershire

foxton locks leicestershireI had a fun filled meeting with Zoe and David at Foxton Locks in Leicestershire this Saturday, these guys have chosen Halstead House in Tilton on the Hill in Leicester, Leicestershire for their wedding venue, I have always loved Halstead House, for its rustic natural charms, I have photographed a number of weddings there, I always feel at home and relaxed when I visit. Halstead house is well worth a visit if you are looking for a country wedding venue, I love the way the patio doors swing open from the reception room onto the patio looking out to the fields and countryside. I often sit out there, camp as you like enjoying a magners and soaking in the atmosphere.
David works for a local and successful SEO company, I have to say I’m really impressed by their work, with so many rogue seo companies out there it’s fantastic to be part of a team that keep you updated and work hard to get results, Zoe is a fitness instructor and along with this Zoe has a number of other strings to her bow, to make sure she never gets bored working.
Now I’m sure that if the world wide web died tomorrow David would not be short of work, A career in catalogue posing would open up for him I’m sure ;@>
We had a great time walking around the beautiful locks and we seemed to laugh at every opportunity, I just simply love people that do not take themselves seriously and will gladly laugh at themselves, my kind of people! Their wedding will be a stunning occasion because of this sense of humour and also because Zoe and David along with their friends and family have invested in their wedding by making signs, scarecrows, bunting and other bits of interest, to make their wedding personal and unique, this for me is all photographic ingredients that will go towards unfolding this beautiful wedding story.

Nutfield Priory, Surrey, London, for a pre wedding meeting with Angela and Samuel.

Nutfield Priory Redhill SurreyI had a really nice drive down to Nutfield Priory near redhill, Surrey, London, for a pre wedding meeting and photographic shoot with Angela and Samuel.
I first met these guys at Angela’s brothers wedding last year, it gives me a great sense of pride when someone sees how I work and views the end results and decide that I’m the photographer for them. It was great to catch up with them and see with my own eyes the stunning venue which they have chosen for their wedding day. Nutfield Priory is one of those venues that just lends themselves towards the photographer with its impressive structure and tasteful decor, I don’t think I shall be getting to stressed with trying to think of ideas for their wedding images.

Rebecca and Peter at Barton Marina, Barton Under Needwood,Burton Upon Trent, Staffordshire.

Barton Marina, Barton Under Needwood,Burton Upon Trent, Staffordshire.Where oh where do I start with this one, not Peter, no Peter is fine, Rebecca is the one I have to be careful of!
I met this fab couple at their wedding venue, Barton Marina, Barton Under Needwood,Burton Upon Trent, Staffordshire.
Peter and Rebecca wanted a venue that was chilled and informal a bit like themselves ;@>
Rebecca is a girl that knows what she wants and boy if I don’t give her the images she wants I’m in a whole lot of trouble, Rebecca is a self confessed stalker!
They brought me a little gift to the pre wedding meeting which was their wedding image ideas book, now you might think I’m sounding ungrateful, but I bloody love it!
I love people that really care about their wedding images and not “Just have a wedding photographer because they have to have one!” they have invested the time and effort and I really love that,
I see creating images as team work, I love it when clients share with me the style and images they love.
We had a nice little walk around the Marina and pretty much laughed at every opportunity, I think we even poked fun at anyone that happend to come our way!
I’m looking forward to capturing their wedding and soak in the atmosphere of the Marina and hopefully taste a ice cold cider in the sun! (oh and do some work ;@>)

The Guys

This image has had alot of interest and I have been asked to display it larger, so here goes, I did say to the guys “look like you hate me”, which they seem to do with ease hummmmm……. If you like this image and not already liking my face book business page, please feel free to do so and share my work with any friends that may be getting married in the future.

Emma and Paul at Coombe Abbey Hotel in Warwickshire for their Wedding venue

coombe abbey warwickshireEmma and Paul chose Coombe Abbey Hotel in Warwickshire for their Wedding venue, I have to say its doesn’t get much better than this, this beautiful venue for me has it all, stunning building with photographic opportunities popping out round every corner, This is only matched by the vast and beautiful grounds in sits on. I would also like to thank the staff for supplying me with a welcome cup of tea and a room to camp in! Now it has to be said that Emma and Paul are not who they seem to be, on the face of it they are quite and painfully camera shy by their own admission, what a load of bloody rubbish after a few cheeky Champagnes Emma was posing like Katie Price and striking a pose at every opportunity and Paul’s true identity was revealed during the best mans speech, it was said while out one night he turned to his now best man and said “Come on lets get arrested” its fair to say this was followed by a trip home in a taxi to sleep. Their day was a fantastic mix of friends and family, who made me feel very welcome! Have a fantastic honeymoon guys and I will be working my socks of preparing your wedding images.

Victoria and Richard Pre-Wedding photoshoot at Sutton Park in Birmingham

Rowton Castle ShrewsburyLast weekend I met up with Victoria and Richard for their pre wedding photoshoot at Sutton Park in Birmingham, as luck would have it, we chose a glorious spring day which made the early morning start more than worth while, the park was busy with dog walkers, runners and people taking advantage of this unexpected sunshine. Victoria and Richard have chosen Rowton Castle in shrewsbury for their wedding day, a venue that I haven’t been to before, which works well for me because I will be like a child with a new toy, I can discover all the different areas around Rowton Castle and the grounds in which I can create some beautiful Wedding images.

Shelly and Gareth’s Engagement Shoot at One Hundred House Hotel in Shropshire

My wedding season is creeping up on me and I don’t mind sharing a secret with you!, I’m a little excited mixed in with a few nerves, I have always put a great deal of pressure on myself to improve year on year, never to be complacent towards my methods or my quality. I work in a most fabulous industry where new photography talent is always popping up, reminding me, that now is the time to step up my game. I have just come back from the NEC Focus on imaging exhibition, full of energy and passion, but also with a hint of confusion, mainly which lighting techniques will I be adopting this season, sad as it is, this was a major stress point for me! So for therapy I sat down at my workstation (computer and empty tea cups) and started to edit Shelly and Gareth’s Pre wedding images that were taken at the Hundred House Hotel in Shropshire.
Yet again I met a young attractive couple that are completely oblivious to their good looks and charms, this is such a double edge sword, as a photographer I love to pull out the emotions from clients, really get them to be themselves. I love to see the surprise on their faces, when they do something they were dreading and before they know it, they are really enjoying themselves, Which then translates to ticking a massive tick, off their stress list on their wedding day. I always think thou, how can young people not see the beauty they have! (must be an age thing!) As a wedding photographer it is our Job to take stress out of weddings and give wedding couples the benefits of our experiences. I suppose I had better go back to my original point! All the above images were taken with natural day light, so here was I ,stressing about which lights to use or purchase this season and its been a complete waste of energy, because the best friend for a photographer is the light, all you have to do is go and find it! Shelly and Gareth will make a stunning wedding couple, that I am certain and the Hundred House Hotel in Shropshire will have a big part to play in creating them a beautiful set of wedding images and I’m looking forward to showing them off!

Stacy and Glen at Hellidon Lakes in Daventry, Northamptonshire

wedding photographer northamptonshire

I had the pleasure of meeting up with Stacy and Glen at Hellidon Lakes in Daventry, Northamptonshire this week, to discuss the details of their forthcoming wedding.
These pre wedding meetings are there to understand the timings of the day, for me to get a a feeling of what type of day the couple are planning for their wedding celebration.
The pre wedding meeting is also for them to learn a little more about how I work and what kind of personality I have, and equally for me to learn about what makes them tick!
On this occasion it seems we are equally twisted in our sense of humour, as we spent about an hour laughing away at anything we could think of.
Hellidon lakes has a full size ten pin bowling ally, which should make some interesting wedding images, how on earth am I going to create a styled wedding image in there, well ill certainly try!
After a details were taken, and drinks were, well drank! we headed outside for a few images around the grounds, this wedding will be chilled , relaxed and thoroughly enjoyed!

melton mowbray leicestershireI first met George at a wedding in Melton Mowbray last year and we chatted as he was setting up is equipment for that nights entertainment. George is in a band called Maslow he also has his solo projects. Soni his fiance had already had a photographer in mind and George kindly said, you need to look at this site! (lee Glasgow photography) that’s me ;@) Soni saw the talent and I was booked to photograph their Hindu wedding in southport, to which I have to say I’m so very excited.
The images below I absolutely love for a few reasons but above all because it shows two young people in love with a very exciting life ahead of them.
They were a sheer joy to photograph, I just want to get on to photographing their coastal, Hindu wedding near Liverpool and showing off the results of this vibrant wedding.

Annette and Matt’s engagement shoot at Kilworth house, Leicester, Leicestershire

wedding photographer leicestershire working at kilworth houseWell it’s only been a few weeks since I last visited Kilworth House in Leicestershire for that wonderful New Year’s Eve wedding and here I am again, going through the details of Annette and Matt’s spring wedding. Annette and Matt were recommended to me via a mutual friend, an introduction that I really value. Now these two will be fab to work with. For Wedding Photographer, Annette will be easy to photograph and Matt is full of smiles, so everybody wins. I’m looking forward to digging a little deeper into Kilworth House to see what other areas of interest I can take advantage of, so as to capture some stylish wedding images.

The impressive Coombe Abbey in Warwickshire

coombe abbey warwickshireI had a lovely meeting with Emma and Paul at the impressive Coombe Abbey in Warwickshire. Now impressive it is, but inside it’s dark. For me, this is actually no bad thing, quite the reverse! Instead of fighting with the lack of light by using flash photography and blasting all that beautiful atmosphere away, I’m going to enjoy working with it and letting all that atmosphere soak into my lens. Coombe Abbey is well worth a visit, as the interior is as impressive as the outside. There are woods, a moat and a lake, along with gardens and parkland. There are also designated BBQ areas for those warm summer days. Emma, like a good percentage of women, doesn’t feel comfortable with having her photograph taken, so it was great to hear her say that she really enjoyed her Engagement shoot. The key in creating relaxed images is to try and take the very ingredients away that make us feel uncomfortable. The first – the camera, and the second – putting the subject under the spotlight. The solution is simple. Have fun, create a diversion with conversation and chatting complete rubbish (I am particularly good at this!), get the job done and move on before they have a chance to remember that they don’t like having their image taken! I’m looking forward to capturing their Big Day and showing Emma that she is beautiful and that, on her wedding day, she will look amazing.
